Advanced Materials

Advanced material can be said to be materials which have engineered properties created through the development of specialized process and synthesis technology. Generally they are Novel and have Improved properties, i.e. weight, strength, and conductivity, over current counterpart. Our department has a very comprehensive research program the development of advanced materials. We have core strengths in three main areas: materials synthesis, characterization, and theory.

Biotechnology

Biotechnology is the use of living systems and organisms to develop or make products. From the engineering aspect, our department are devoted to the original and novel findings in the extensive areas of biotechnology and biochemical engineering which includes Applied microbiology, Biomaterials, Biomolecular Engineering, Biocatalysis & Biotransformation, and Metabolic Engineering, Bioseparation, Bioprocessing; Nanobiotechnology, Biosensor and Bioelectronics, Cell Culture Engineering, Environmental Biotechnology, and Food Biotechnology.

Clean Chemical Processes

Clean Chemical Processes describes sustainable breakthroughs in chemical research and industrial engineering. The main idea of modern clean chemical processes is in line with the green chemistry concept which is to develop Eco-friendly processes and products that will prevent pollution in the first place. Our department has a wide range of research programs in minimizing or eliminating chemical waste, using minimum energy input, and utilizing renewable materials.
