The Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering has 16 very active faculties, 100 graduate students, and about 300 undergraduate students in chemical engineering and materials engineering. The department was founded in 1993 with the mission of providing the intellectual community with high-level education pertinent to the chemical engineering discipline. The department was renamed to Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering in 2007. Along with the development of modern technologies, the field of chemical engineering has become increasingly broader than ever before. In order to pursue superiority in teaching, research and service towards the aspects of chemical, bio and material engineering, the graduate programs, MS and PhD, were established in 2003.
